Investigation & Safety Response

Universal Orlando has closed Stardust Racers pending investigation. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is reviewing ride operations and safety logs. Universal issued a statement expressing condolences and reaffirming that guest safety is its top priority.

Theme Park Safety Context

According to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), serious injuries on theme park rides are rare, occurring in fewer than 1 in 16 million rides. However, incidents like this raise questions about restraint systems, medical pre-screening, and oversight of high-thrill attractions.
